Cooking Crabs (1st time!)

My niece Gwennie sent this to me & I had to find the YouTube version to post. Living in Alaska, we know about crab, but I can see how this would rattle a newbie. My sister and I dang near laughed til we cried! (Keep your eye on the dog. He's not sure if this is a threat or a food source!)

I got this from my niece Gwennie way last month, but I had to track it down on YouTube so I could post it. I am warning you now, you will wince, grimace, and gasp quite a bit. This falls into that not-funny-but... category.

Truth & Humor

Chris Rock is my favorite comedian. Why? Because, through his humor, he shines a light on painful realities. Here's one of my faves. Sad but true - and not true just for black people; every race has their "niggas."



And everybody has felt the pain of racism...



And there is so much truth is this bit that it hurts to even think about it...

Joy

I grew up in the Holiness church. This is the way we do praise and music worship. (I feel like I had to show the way praise should be done when people know how to sing.)

Oh-Mazing Grace

I ain't gonna lie - I've seen this video before, but when I spotted it on You Tube today, I still had a giggle fit.

Lord, please forgive me... The brother wasn't doing so bad at first. THEN he busts out with that note that made me jump in my seat and almost bite my tongue. Mercy, mercy.

The bad thing is, I'm supposed to be fasting and praying today. See how the Devil works? Just puts these thoughts all up in my head while I'm trying so hard to live right...

Too Funny for Me

I just finished watching an old Cedric the Entertainer DVD where he introduces up & coming (in '05 anyway) comics. The new comics were okay, but it was Cedric who almost made me wet myself. Talking about giving praise for when Venus & Serena Williams finally got rid of those dang beads they used to wear: "Thank You, Lord. Ama-say, Amu-sah, Amaku-sah" (or whatever is in that old Michael Jackson song)... Cracked me up. Then I saw this amusing chick - who proved she could be "clean" AND funny:



Now that I have completed my day (I laughed, I cried, I got tired), I'm giving it up for the night.

Dance, Dangit! Just DANCE!

A little bit down when I got up this mawnin' (that's how the old folks used to say it!) so I decided to cheer myself up. If any of you are like me, nothing chases away the blues like some good music - and I do mean nuthin', not alcohol, not food, not sex, gossip or self-pity. There is nothing like music. I KNOW this is why God gave us music.

So, here's some of what I'm listening to today. (And if you are disappointed that I've got no jokes, tough. Just get off your butt and dance with me!)

Best Dance Videos

I love to dance, but I'm not a great dancer so I love to watch other people dance. This is one of my favorite dance videos. I first saw it over a year ago, but just know found it again over on YouTube. You know we all did one or two of these moves...

That's just ... wrong

Everybody was all over Mac Daddy ( Daddy Mac - or whoever he was... You know - that guy from Kriss Kross) and poor old Bobby Brown yesterday. The giggles were about the Mac's hair & Bobby's back... um, um um... That and a bunch of other hilarious-ness from over at Word Izz. Then I had to fall out laughing about a pic of Jay Z from back when his teeth were just... I dunno. Something was going on with dental problems in that boy's case. Good thing he's got all that money and a cute wife to keep him looking somewhat better. (I won't even talk about the post they had from back in December - something about Ice Cube's kid and her teeth.)

And I have to post this one for my husband. He thinks this is one of the funniest things he's ever seen. I guess because he is a church musician... It is funny & have posted it on other blogs, but somehow I just know that I'm going to have to answer to the Lord for laughing. If you can watch it without laughing, please let me know how you managed it!
